Want to work with the biggest trees and the best equipment in MetroWest Massachusetts? American Climbers is looking for experienced tree climbers who aren't afraid of a challenge. Since 1996, we've specialized in taking down the most difficult and dangerous trees that other companies won't touch.

What You'll Do

• Work with our expert crew on complex tree removals and technical pruning jobs using state-of-the-art equipment, including one of the largest cranes in the tree industry
• Handle climbing duties using advanced rigging techniques during pruning and removal work
• Safely work from a bucket truck or aerial lift as needed
• Drive various trucks and equipment between job sites (CDL required for some vehicles)
• Work with an experienced crew on emergency storm response and technical takedowns
• Manage job site safety and maintain high production standards
• Run equipment including chippers and chainsaws (after safety certification)
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance of tools and equipment, including climbing gear and PPE
• Communicate with our clients about job details
• Complete necessary paperwork and maintenance records
• Participate in daily job planning and safety meetings
• Follow all safety and industry standards (ANSI Z133.1, OSHA, and ANSI A300)

Your Work Environment

• Most of your time will be spent outdoors in residential areas, tackling challenging trees (often in tight spaces)
• You'll work in all weather conditions (we're a year-round operation)
• Occasional indoor time for meetings, training, and paperwork
• Based out of our Southborough yard, serving the entire MetroWest area

What We Need from You

• At least 1 year of professional tree climbing experience (2+ years preferred), including SRT/SRS
• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred, or willingness to obtain one)
• Physical ability to handle demanding work (must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work at heights of 60+ feet)
• Experience with technical rigging and crane-assisted tree removals
• Knowledge of proper climbing techniques and safety procedures
• Proven track record safely using chainsaws, hand saws, pole saws, and chippers
• Reliable transportation to our Southborough yard
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team-player mentality
• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
• Ability to work year-round in all weather conditions
• Drug-free lifestyle (we test)

Bonus Points If You Have

• CDL license
• Mechanical aptitude
• ISA Certification
• Background in emergency tree work or storm response
