Are you a natural at connecting with customers, understanding their needs, and closing deals? American Climbers is looking for a Sales Estimator to become the face of our company and drive revenue by converting property owners into satisfied customers. Since 1996, we've built our reputation on providing expert tree service to the MetroWest region. Now we need someone who can sell that expertise and build lasting relationships with homeowners and property managers.
What You'll Do
- Schedule and conduct on-site estimates for tree removal, pruning, storm cleanup, and other tree services across our 30+ MetroWest service area
- Assess job complexity, equipment needs, and safety factors to provide accurate quotes
- Build rapport with customers, understand their concerns, and explain our services in ways that make sense to them
- Follow up with prospects via phone and email to close estimates and answer questions
- Manage your estimate schedule and calendar efficiently to maximize customer appointments
- Document all estimate details accurately in our system (ArborGold) and communicate job specifications to our crew
- Develop relationships with repeat customers and property managers to build a steady pipeline of referral work
- Represent American Climbers professionally at all times, knowing you're the last touchpoint before a customer decides to trust us with their property
Your Work Environment
- Most of your time will be spent traveling to customer properties in Hopkinton, Southborough, Framingham, and throughout the MetroWest area
- You'll work in all weather conditions—rain, heat, and occasional snow—sometimes assessing emergency situations
- Office time will include phone follow-ups, proposal writing, and administrative tasks at our Southborough yard
- You'll work year-round in a fast-paced environment where you're measured on the number of estimates you generate and your ability to close deals
What We Need From You
- Proven sales or customer service experience (tree industry experience is helpful but not required—we'll train you on the technical side)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to homeowners in simple terms
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage your own schedule and multiple customer interactions
- Reliability and dependability—customers count on you to show up when you say you will
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work comfortably on customer properties, including walking through yards and handling a basic assessment of tree health and hazards
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to take constructive feedback
- Proficiency with basic computer systems (email, spreadsheets, CRM software)
- Drug-free lifestyle (we test)
Bonus Points If You Have
- Previous tree service or landscaping experience
- Knowledge of tree care and industry terminology
- ISA Certification or willingness to pursue it
- Experience working with property managers or commercial clients
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation package based on experience (including commission opportunities)
- Full-time, year-round work with a company that's been in business for over 25 years
- Medical and dental insurance
- Retirement plan
- Paid time off
- Training in tree care and sales techniques
- Access to state-of-the-art equipment and technology (including one of the largest cranes in the tree industry)
- Steady work in the growing MetroWest area with plenty of opportunity to build a book of business
- A supportive team that values professionalism and takes pride in doing quality work
